Our Vision
Heaven on Earth in Silicon Valley
When Jesus was asked by his disciples what to pray for, he told them they should pray like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.”
Those words “earth as in heaven,” or “heaven on earth,” refer to Jesus’ main desire - that God’s creation would know the love of the Creator and be filled with his justice, peace, goodness, and beauty. Jesus came to bring heaven on earth and to teach others to do the same.
Our vision is to build a family of followers of Jesus who are making “heaven on earth” visible throughout Silicon Valley through prayer, beloved community, being present in our city, and empowering people to live out God’s design for their life.
We strive to be a community that consists of the committed and the curious - those who are sold on the Way of Jesus and those who are exploring him for the first (or second, third, fourth, etc.) time.
You are invited to join the journey!
Our Pastor
Pastor Danny Atkins is a Seattle-area native who, with his wife Taylor and daughter Iona, is hopeful and expectant for what God can do through Trinitas SV.
After sensing a call to ministry in High School, Danny studied Christian Ministry at Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho and worked for a youth organization called Younglife. After graduating, Taylor and Danny moved to the Rhine-Main region of Germany and led a German-speaking church and helped to start a community of Farsi-speaking followers of Jesus. During their time in Germany, they completed Masters in Theology at Nazarene Theological College in the UK.
Near the end of 2021, they handed off their ministry to their leadership team and moved home. Taylor worked at Northwest Nazarene University and Danny worked as a Executive Pastor at Nampa College Church, while also working on his PhD (New Testament) and teaching as an Adjunct in the religion department.
After three years, Danny and Taylor sensed God leading them to come to the South Bay area in summer 24’ and work on planting a church that would be expressed differently than the typical church. After a year of life in Silicon Valley, they have begun the work of planting Trinitas Church.
Our Beliefs
We hold to the historic, orthodox confessions of the Christian faith, agreed upon by Protestants, Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and many other branches of the Church. We also are located within a specific tradition, Wesleyan-holiness, which has it roots in a world-changing movement that took place during the 1700’s in England. We are affiliated with a global denomination within that tradition called the Church of the Nazarene. You can read more about each below.
-
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen. -
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen. -
We, then, following the holy fathers, all with one consent teach men to confess one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, the same perfect in Godhead and also perfect in manhood; truly God and truly man, of a rational soul and body; coessential with the Father according to the Godhead, and consubstantial with us according to the manhood; in all things like unto us, without sin; begotten before all ages of the Father according to the Godhead, and in these latter days, for us and for our salvation, born of the Virgin Mary, the mother of God, according to the manhood; one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, to be acknowledged in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation; the distinction of natures being by no means taken away by the union, but rather the property of each nature being preserved, and concurring in one person and one subsistence, not parted or divided into two persons, but one and the same Son, and only begotten, God the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ; as the prophets from the beginning have declared concerning Him, and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself has taught us, and the creed of the holy fathers has handed down to us.
